An appreciation of collaboration and support

We want to look back over the past several years to highlight and share some gratitude for the organizations and businesses who have provided financial support for the many Hall improvements made in recent years.

First, a huge thank you to our Mayfest sponsors. These local businesses donate to help support the Hall and our annual community dinner held each May. Next time you visit one of these businesses, be sure to thank them for their support.

Below are the organizations that have provided substantial financial support — and in many cases critical advice and guidance — as we’ve moved the Hall to a clean energy facility. We are so grateful for this support in helping us to build and maintain our community gathering place.

The amazing folks at Whidbey Climate Action were instrumental in helping the Hall kickstart our Energize The Hall efforts. When they created the Whidbey Climate Fund the Hall was one of the first grant recipients, helping us to pay for our solar/battery system. Each year since, they have continued to fund local projects that reduce greenhouse gases and enhance sustainability for future generations. Kicking Gas is a grassroots, Whidbey Island-based climate justice organization that works to make home electrification measures accessible and affordable to those who need them in the Puget Sound area. Kicking Gas provided funding to help pay for the Hall’s new induction cooking stove and for our heat pump heating/cooling system. If you are interested in switching to a heat pump system, they provide financial assistance. Learn more here.

Thanks to the generous shoppers of the Goose Community Grocer, local charities receive thousands in donations each month. The Hall was the recipient of funds to help us pay for new windows (more on this in the near future) in February 2025. Learn more about the Round Up program here.

Sustainable Connections advances a regenerative local economy that builds community, strengthens food systems, catalyzes climate solutions, and expands access to housing in NW Washington. They helped the Hall by providing an energy audit and advice during our Energize The Hall campaign, and provided funding for our new heat pump hot water heater and our heat pump heating/cooling system. A private, family foundation focused on improving communities in the Puget Sound Region, The Norcliffe Foundation provided funding to help the Hall pay for our solar/battery system. Learn more about the foundation here.

Funded by the Hammond Climate Solutions Foundation, the Solar Moonshot Program helps nonprofit organizations across the United States afford the switch to clean energy. They provided a large grant that helped the Hall install our solar/battery system. Learn more about the Solar Moonshot Program here.

We could not make any of this happen without the ongoing support of our members & donors. Your contributions help fund the day-to-day operations at the Hall, as well as many smaller — but still so important — improvements that have helped make our community hall function so well.
