Board changes: thank you Bob, welcome Ryan
Thank you, Bob
After two terms and six years serving the Hall, Bob Gerhard retired from the board in June 2026.
It’s a challenge to adequately summarize Bob’s contributions to the Hall over those years. In addition to acting as the Hall’s treasurer for the past few years, Bob played a key role in “just getting stuff done” — a lot of stuff! He’s spent countless hours maintaining the landscaping and grounds around the Hall, including storing, moving and installing seasonal decorations out near our readerboard sign. If you’ve come to Hall-sponsored events, you’ll likely recognize Bob from out in the parking lot, helping to manage the flow of vehicles. For many years, he changed out the readerboard with messages about events at the Hall. He was instrumental in helping to build out the interior renovations back in late 2024. And he’s been part of just about every volunteer- and board-led effort to improve the facility. And I’m likely forgetting dozens of other examples of Bob’s impact along the way.
While we will greatly miss Bob being a part of the board, he’s promised he’s not going anywhere, and will continue to volunteer where needed.
When you next see Bob around town, please thank him for his many years of contributions to the Hall!

Welcome, Ryan
We are very happy to welcome Ryan Adkins as our newest board member, also taking over the role of treasurer. A few notes from Ryan…

“My wife, Halle, and I made Whidbey Island our home in 2020, when she enrolled at the Organic Farm School. With a shared background in agriculture, we put down roots — literally — and started our own market farm, Sleepy Bee Farm. While it wasn’t the right time for us to keep farming, the love of growing things hasn’t gone anywhere.
“These days I work at Stallman Studio, where I get to be part of the creative process and still work with my hands. Outside the studio, you’ll find Halle and me exploring all the island has to offer with our dogs, Billie and Walter, photographing our adventures, and enjoying the community we’ve built here over the last six years. I’m happy to bring my time and energy to the Clinton Community Hall, and I look forward to serving as your Treasurer!”
