Thank you Sheri, welcome Scott & Edie
After two terms and almost six years serving on the Hall board, Sheri Gerhard retired from the board at the end of January 2026.
Over those six years, Sheri dedicated countless hours to improving & maintaining the Hall. She’s the person most-responsible for ensuring the Hall has such high-standards of cleanliness, constantly checking in on the facility to be sure everything is in its place and ready for use.
Sheri was also involved in event planning, and in leading our landscaping & grounds maintenance for many of the years she served. She’s made impacts on our organization in so many ways, and we are grateful for all the time and effort she’s offered to help bring the Hall to where we are today.
Sheri has offered to continue being involved as a Hall volunteer, so you’ll still see her around helping out! Thank you Sheri, for everything!

New board members
We’ve brought on two new board members in the past few months. Welcome Scott & Edie!
Scott Amick

A native of Seattle, Scott’s family started visiting their Clinton weekend cabin in 1995. His career has been focused on commercial construction projects mostly in the Seattle area. Scott enjoys researching family and community history. He plans to collect more Hall history and make it accessible for future generations.
Scott and David made the island their full-time home in 2020 and enjoy biking, gardening, watching the ferries and cooking-in or enjoying our food and drink establishments.
Edie Heppler

In Edie’s words:
Born in the San Juan Islands to homesteading stock, island living is truly in my DNA. After many decades running my own businesses, I retired and looked around at what came next. The answer was clear: the islands were still calling.
I purchased my home in June 2025, and from the moment I settled in, both the community and the rhythm of island life fit me like a well‑worn pair of slippers. Leaving behind the bustle of Bellevue, I’ve found it a natural transition to bring my background and experience into service for my new community—particularly through the Clinton Community Hall.
I enjoy a wide range of crafts, a good movie or a good book, and the simple pleasures of my brand‑new garden. You’ll often find me combing the beaches, exploring the island, or entertaining friends in this place that already feels like home.
